Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Higspin (“Higspin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit higspin.com, request a callback, create an account, or use our AI receptionist and missed-call answering service. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information that is generated when you use the Service, and information we receive from connected phone lines, calendars, and messaging providers so we can answer calls and book jobs on your behalf.
Account and business information
When you request a callback, create an account, or onboard an organization, we may collect business name, contact name, phone number, work email, password or authentication credentials, timezone, service area, and related workspace settings.
Call, calendar, and job information
To answer calls and book jobs, we process call audio and transcripts, caller phone numbers, and the details a caller shares about the job they need done. If you connect Google Calendar, we access calendar identifiers and event details needed to schedule and manage appointments.
Messaging and payment information
We process phone numbers, outbound and inbound SMS content, delivery status, and confirmation or cancellation replies. If billing features are enabled, payment card data is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Technical information
We automatically collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and cookies needed for authentication, security, and basic operation of the site.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Higspin AI receptionist, including answering missed calls and booking service jobs.
- Read and manage calendar events so we can schedule jobs and send SMS confirmations based on caller responses.
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.
- Communicate with you about onboarding, product updates, and support.
- Process payments and billing where those features are enabled.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use caller or calendar data to build advertising profiles.
Google Workspace APIs
3. Google API Data Usage
Higspin uses Google Workspace APIs (Google Calendar) to read and manage calendar events solely for the purpose of scheduling jobs and sending automated SMS confirmations.
We access only the Google Calendar data required to operate this feature, including event times, titles, status, and customer contact details associated with those events. OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to keep your calendar connected and to perform these scheduling actions.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or ML models.
- We do not sell or share Google user data with third parties.
- Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing features of Higspin: reading availability, booking jobs, and sending confirmation or reminder SMS messages.
Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Call and SMS communications
Higspin answers phone calls and sends automated, transactional SMS messages on behalf of businesses that use the Service. These calls and messages relate to job requests, appointment confirmations, cancellations, and follow-ups. Recipients may reply with keywords such as YES, NO, or STOP according to the instructions in the message.
Call and message volume depends on how many calls your business receives. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive calls and messages is obtained by the business whose phone line is connected to Higspin. Callers may opt out of further SMS from that sender by following the STOP instructions in the message.
Google Workspace APIs
Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Higspin's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We strictly do not sell, rent, share, or trade any Google User Data (including Calendar information) with third parties for any purpose.
7. Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Call recordings, transcripts, appointment records, and SMS logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for scheduling, delivery, support, and audit purposes.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and restricted production access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Higspin workspace or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also have the right to appeal a denial or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International transfers
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our processors operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
